A Kitchen Masterpiece Inside an Artist's Kitchen

A Kitchen Masterpiece

Welcome to our Traditional Elegance project, located in Shaker Heights. We’ve had the honor of working on this 1925 Tudor home for several years, thoughtfully designing each of its grand rooms. This last time around, we renovated the heart of the home: the kitchen, butler’s pantry, and the breakfast room.

Our goal was to honor the home’s original character while layering in the homeowner’s romantic style. We wanted these spaces to feel timeless for years to come. The homeowners wanted the rooms to feel light and airy, yet still traditional and elegant, in keeping with the rest of the home’s style. The result is a fresh and refined interior, shimmering with ornate details that invite the eye to wander. It’s the perfect setting for showcasing the homeowner’s original artwork and treasured antique collection!

Each room incorporates fixtures, artwork, and furniture from the homeowner’s antique collection. Any “new” elements were intentionally designed or sourced to feel old-world and collected, while still maintaining a sense of lightness and freshness. The cabinetry alone is filled with thoughtful detail. Decorative moldings, furniture-style feet, antiqued glass panels, oversized hardware, and classic cremone bolt locks all work together to create a feel of traditional elegance!

One of our favorite moments in the kitchen is a charming “armoire” that is actually a custom-designed refrigerator. Designed to blend seamlessly into the cabinetry, it feels right at home in this antique French–inspired space!

And now for a look inside the breakfast room and butler’s pantry…
