When our client came to us and said they were looking to refresh their traditional home to make it feel more like a “Scandinavian tree house,” we knew we had a fun project ahead of us! The home is nestled in a quiet neighborhood in Pepper Pike, Ohio, with large wall-to-wall windows that look out into the woods. A setting that quite literally makes you feel like you’re in a tree house. Our task was to draw that beautiful setting into the home, through color palette, material choice, and an overall refresh to make the space feel like the nature-inspired oasis it was destined to be! Take a look below to see the transformation and learn more about what we did to make it happen.
Before & After
Our client wanted the kitchen to more feel clean and simple compared to where it started, so we removed some of the traditional details, selected all new countertops, cabinet color, backsplash, lighting, and added other new elements like a custom kitchen island and banquette seating.
Before & After
We refreshed both the bedroom and living fireplaces to better align with the clean, natural look we were going for. Then we brightened up the rooms with fresh upholstery on the client’s existing furniture, paint, and other details like a tongue and groove ceiling to add more architectural interest to the living room.
Throughout the rooms, you’ll spot our clients beautiful collection of pottery and furniture, all inspired from William Morris’ Arts & Crafts movement. While designing these spaces, we kept these details in mind, to make sure that everything they love and want in the home would be a natural fit when brought back into the space. At the end of the design process, we want every home we work on to feel personal and like it was made just for you, so we loved getting to include their personal collection into our design plans!
